Thank you to the Dundee Mental Health Cairn Fowk for inviting me along to their drop in yesterday afternoon.

The local charity was set up and is ran by a dedicated team of mental health carers. Their aim is to reach out to carers who may feel isolated or stigmatised.

A truly inspiring team of volunteers who provide a valuable service.

More information can be found at their website: www.dmhcairnfowk.org

This afternoon, Chris Law SNP, Councillor John Alexander and I met with representatives of Lloyds Banking Group at the City Chambers in Dundee regarding their recent announcement.

Unfortunately, in spite of our best efforts, Lloyds confirmed to us that their decision to close the Dundee Contact Centre is final.

Our discussion then focused on securing positive outcomes for staff. We will continue these discussions over the coming days to ensure the best possible outcome for those affected. ... See more

I will be meeting with Lloyds on Friday with my colleagues Chris Law MP and Leader of Dundee City Council John Alexander. We will be seeking assurances from Lloyds that they will do everything possible to avoid compulsory redundancies.

Yesterday's announcement was very disappointing news for those affected and their families and I will do all that I can to help them in these difficult circumstances.

Today is Stand Up to Bullying Day.

Bullying is an issue which affects people from all walks of life and can happen at any point. The reality is, bullying isn’t confined to the school gates and its victims aren’t limited to young people.

You too can #StandUpToBullying by visiting the Anti-Bullying Pro page and getting involved.

I was happy to be able to show my support to the Diabetes community today in The Scottish Parliament. 284,122 people, 5% of the adult population, live with Diabetes in Scotland.

The SNP Scottish Government has pledged £10 million in funding over the term of this Parliament to increase the provision of insulin pump therapy and Continuous Glucose Monitoring devices.

The Scottish Government is also funding ground-breaking research at the University of Dundee – the biggest study of its kind ... See more

I joined my colleague Shona Robison MSP to support local WASPI - Women Against State Pension Inequality Campaign activists campaigning in Dundee's City Square today.

The Scottish National Party (SNP) fully supports the WASPI campaign in their efforts to secure fairness for women born in the 1950s who are affected by the acceleration in the retirement age.

While we agree with the equalisation of the State Pension Age, we do not support the unfair manner in which these changes were made in the ... See more
